Securing the Crop Microbiome
for Agri-bioscience Research
Data Summary
The UK Crop Microbiome Cryobank project integrates genomic and metagenomic data with a cryobank collection of samples, for the microbiomes of the UKs major crops. The genomic and metagenomic data, alongside comprehensive meta data, is available through the project’s AgMicroBiomeBase. The database allows users to explore the microbiomes of specific crop-soil combinations and link through to the raw sequence data deposited into the MGnify resource (https://www.ebi.ac.uk/metagenomics/). The AgMicroBiomeBase hosts microbiome data from 9 UK soil types for barley, oats, oil seed rape, sugar beet and wheat. The microbiomes are for bulk soil and as well as the crop rhizosphere.
